Report Flood Damage Online

With the recent flash flooding event, many buildings may have experienced water damage. The Evansville Vanderburgh County Building Commission reminds residents that repairs and/or reconstruction activities to buildings that are flood damaged often require a building permit. In addition, detailed inspections may be required prior to the start of reconstruction activity depending on the property's location and in accordance with the requirements of the City-County participation in the National Flood Insurance Program.

Before starting reconstruction activity, please call the Building Commission at 436-7867 to schedule an inspection of flood damage that has occurred. A certified professional building inspector will inspect the damage and determine the requirements for reconstruction based on federal, state, and local laws. Citizens can also report damage anytime to the Building Commission by clicking on the Flood Damage Report Form and completing the online form. Building Commission staff will contact you to schedule an inspection.
