Join “A Walk at the Zoo” hosted by Energize Evansville on Saturday, March 18, from 9-11 a.m. at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden, 1545 Mesker Park Drive. Participants will be led on a walk throughout the zoo with Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, Parks and Recreation officials and a local fitness expert. Participants in Energize Evansville must register at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden from 8:45 to 9 a.m. Zoo Admission is not required to take part in the event.
Energize Evansville is a health and fitness program launched by Mayor Winnecke as part of his health initiative to give individuals support to transform their lives through physical activity. The program is held on the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. at a different city park or venue and features local fitness experts leading group exercises for all ages.
The next Energize Evansville free exercise session will be held on April 15th at Sunset Park on Waterworks Road near Riverside Drive. The session will feature master personal trainer Atlas Allen leading participants through a walking routine followed by a question and answer session. The session will also feature the first of several walks this year in partnership with the Deaconess Healthier U Walk Series.
