The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for I-69 in Evansville.
Beginning on or around Monday, April 3, crews with J H Rudolph will begin removing and replacing guardrail along I-69 from U.S. 41 to just west of Green River Road. This will be the first phase of a project to resurface I-69 along that stretch. The work will require lane restrictions, beginning with the northbound right lane. Crews will begin at one end of the project limits and make a circle back to the original starting place. Patching operations to repair specific areas of the road are expected to begin the following week, with milling and repaving to begin after those operations are complete.
Restrictions will be in place around the clock with work zone speed limits reduced. The entire project is expected to last until early or mid-July, depending upon weather conditions. Motorists are urged to slow down, be aware of workers in the work zone and eliminate distractions while driving.
Motorists can learn about highway work zones and other traffic alerts at indot.carsprogram.org, 1-800-261-ROAD (7623) or 511 from a mobile phone.
